

Don't Breathe Ch. 4Exhaustion overwhelmed me. I slumped against the cement floor, dazed from the savage hunt. The flame lit torches, the screaming, everything felt so wrong. Wasn't I supposed to be spending my vacation in the dullest place on earth? The contrasting events were too extreme. I once ran from my grandparents, escaping from the tedious task of filling salt shakers. And now I was hiding under carpeted forest mulch, hiding for my life. My mind grappled in the silence, straining to make sense of the pandemonium. Perhaps I was in the middle of a movie set, and the director was furious for me standing in the middle of the scene. It was possible. ODon't Breathe Ch. 4


Don't Breathe 3"Run." She gasped. Her body trembled in the cold night air. "He's coming," she groaned. "He's coming. You have to run, or he'll find you. They'll find you." I was stunned by the urgency in her voice. It's not every day a crazy haired lady knocks me senseless. What are you talking about? Who's coming," I demanded hoarsely. Her tangled hair lay across her shoulders in matted balls. Her face was dirty, and black. The woods had done a fair job of lacerating her skin with deep red marks across her arms and bare legs. She wore two tattered slippers, heavily caked with black mud. Her puffy red eyes met mine with a fear, unlike anything I had eDon't Breathe 3


Don't Breathe 2The water bobbed unsteadily against the blackened shore line. Each watery ripple captured a ray of sunlight which blinded me. I sat motionless, listening to the lazy waves, reveling in the moment. Despite my favorite haven, it felt too easy. My escape was less rewarding as the twinge of guilt scratched at my memory. I swatted the air with my palms, batting away the unhappy feelings. This was my summer vacation, and I was gonna enjoy it. "Grams and Gramps can live without me for one afternoon. Its not like I'm their slave." I sighed, digging for another can of soda. The sharp ssssss-ing sound of an opening aluminum can, made me feelDon't Breathe 2


Chocolate Covered S. Ch 7The game had to stop. This was no place for a cafe' owner; captive or not. Jake sat across May, carefully examining what looked like a fraying twig. His concentration was too absorbed in the minute object. "He could care less what he's looking at," May fumed. "He's messing with my mind. Really, he's watching every move I make."
